LGL HU reports decrease in active cases- 20 active cases, 1 in hospital
The following information is issued Monday through Friday by the Leeds, Grenville and Lanark District Health Unit. This page also includes information from the Provincial Ministry of Health, the Upper Canada District School Board, and Catholic District School Board of Eastern Ontario.
Daily COVID-19 Update: Friday, January 22, 2021
The Leeds Grenville and Lanark Health Unit reported 20 active cases of COVID-19 in their report on Friday morning.
That’s an decrease of 2 from yesterday.
There are 8 in Lanark East and 5 in Lanark West. In Leeds-Grenville there are 3 cases in the eastern region, 3 in the central, and 1 is listed as unknown.

The Health Unit also reports that there is now 1 person who has been hospitalized and in the intensive care unit.
The outbreak at Kemptville Retirement Living has been declared over and there are now no long-term care or retirement homes in outbreak due to COVID-19.
The total number of cases has climbed to 785, an increase of 4 from Thursday. Since the pandemic began, 711 cases have been resolved, and 54 deaths have been recorded.
A number of local schools have reported COVID-19 cases within their walls.
*Elementary Schools will return to class on Monday, January 25th. Secondary students will continue learning from home until the 3rd Quad-mester begins on Tuesday, February 2nd. Students in the Catholic District School Board of Eastern Ontario will return to in-person learning on Monday.
The Upper Canada District School Board reports there are currently no outbreaks reported at the UCDSB.
