Perth Farmer’s Market renews deal with Perth to stay at Crystal Palace
The Perth Farmer’s Market will remain at the Crystal Palace for at least three more years, as a renewed Letter of Understanding (L.O.U.) was reviewed at this week’s Committee of the Whole and is expected to officially pass at the next meeting of council.
The L.O.U. details the rights and responsibilities bestowed upon the operators of the Market, including “sole use of the Crystal Palace during their rental periods.” Organizers for community events such as the Stewart Park Festival and Kilt Run must enter into a Shared Use Agreement with the Market if they want to use the Crystal Palace during this time.
The Market operates from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., every Saturday from Mother’s Day weekend to Thanksgiving weekend.
According to a staff report, the updated three-year contract “may be extended for an additional three years” if both the Town and the Market enter into another written agreement.
