Proof of vaccination not required to vote at Election Canada polling stations
There are posts circulating on social media claiming that eligible voters in Canada will have to have at least one dose of COVID-19 vaccine to vote.
That is false.
Elections Canada states the following on their COVID-19 FAQ page “Elections Canada will not require electors to provide proof of vaccination.” The snip from the official page can be seen below.
They note that safety precautions will be in place at all polling stations in Lanark, Leeds, and Grenville, and across the country.
Earlier, Elections Canada had stated that volunteers didn’t have to be fully vaccinated to work the polls, though they said that given vaccination rates across the country, they expect most workers will be.
