Early Saturday morning “The Rucking Nuts” Pat Kerr and Kevin Fournier will start walking from the Great War Memorial Hospital in Perth to the main entrance of Kingston Health Science Center.

Pat Kerr is set to walk 110 kms for a good cause

The two-day journey will raise funds for webcams for the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit that will let parents check in on their babies any time of day, from anywhere.

Kerr tells Lake 88 the pandemic has limited parents to six to nine hours with their child per day, instead of 24/7.

Kerr’s daughter spent 110 days in the NICU after being born at 27 weeks and weighing only 1lb 12oz.

To date their efforts have brought in $35,000, the goal is $100,000 and Kerr says with corporate help, they’re very close to getting the cameras in the unit.

If you’d like to make a donation, you can do so at the pair’s gofundme page here.
