Lanark County approves vaccination policy
At Wednesday’s session of Lanark County Council, staff presented options for a Covid-19 vaccine policy for county employees.
Lanark Lodge’s interim HR manager, Jennie Bingley told council that a workplace vaccination policy is an important measure to help reduce the risk of COVID-19 transmission.
Her recommendation was to mandate vaccines for Lodge employees as well as other designated county staff totalling 250 or face termination unless medically or human-rights exempted.
For 125 non-designated employees including county councillors, vaccination would be voluntary, but they would have to submit to rapid testing and an education program if not fully vaccinated.
Bingley also noted that as of Sept 20, 88.8% of the 241 Lodge employees were fully vaccinated. Council approved this policy.
