Arts and Drama Teacher at Rideau District High School in Elgin, Leanne Schachow, was presented with a Trustee Innovation Award for her work keeping students engaged while they learned from home.

Leanne is described as an extremely dedicated and creative teacher who cares greatly for her students.

Over the years, she has built up the art and drama programs at RDHS and introduced First Nations into her art classes.

She is also known in Perth for her acting and directing as part of Perth Musical Theatre as well as hosting her own improve workshops.

Her family and friends say they are very proud of her for both her efforts and being recognized with the award.
