Local supplier says energy conservation needed as propane prices rise globally
The Canadian Propane Association is calling on federal, provincial, and territorial governments to work together to provide support to customers facing higher energy costs.
The association notes that the pressure on price is a world-wide phenomenon and Canada is not immune to movements in world prices.
David Bangs of Bangs Fuel and Propane here in Perth, tells Lake 88 that from a local perspective, his company has little control over energy pricing, but has taken steps to secure their winter supply.
He says the spike in energy prices emphasises the need to practice energy conservation wherever we can through methods like programmable thermostats, sealing doors and windows, and better insulation.
