A brief Smiths Falls council meeting took place this week after a key agenda item was removed.

Smiths Falls council is not yet done discussing a COVID-19 vaccine mandate for its officials and employees.

A motion by Councillor Wendy Alford Monday night ensured a decision would not be made this week.

Councillor Jay Brennan openly wondered if there were any more questions surrounding the possible mandate, saying town staff have put together a complete report and talked to all important stakeholders prior to Monday’s council meeting.

In the end it was just his hand that didn’t go up in favour of keeping the debate going onto next week’s Committee of the Whole meeting, where it now sits for further discussion.
