Health Unit provides weekly update on vaccination rates and outbreaks
Last week the Health Unit updated their vaccination rate numbers, because they started using the newly received population data from the 2020 Census from Statistics Canada.
Rates are still very high though and continue to lead the province.
For individuals 12 plus, the rate of those fully vaccinated is now 92.2%, up from 91.8% last week, and first dose vaccination rate is now 94.5% up from 94.3% last week.
The health unit notes that as of November 21st, a total of 345,349 vaccinations have been administered in the Leeds, Grenville and Lanark District Health Unit’s jurisdiction.
The Health Unit also provided updated outbreak for our region.
There are now three outbreaks. One is in a school, responsible for 12 cases. The only outbreak at a school on the books listed is the one at St. Francis de Sales in Smiths Falls. The Catholic District School Board of Eastern Ontario is not reporting any cases at any other local schools.
The Upper Canada District School Board still has single cases on the books at Chimo in Smiths Falls, and Montague Public.
There health unit is also reporting two outbreaks in workplaces that account for four of the cases.
