Carleton Place BIA seeks increased advertising funding to help during extended construction period in 2022
At this week’s Carleton Place Committee of the Whole, the Downtown BIA president Mark Hinton made his pitch for increased advertising funding to help cope with the scheduled closure of the central bridge and the reconstruction of Bridge Street in 2022.
Hinton reported that his BIA members wished to execute a much more wide-reaching advertising campaign in 2022 in order to keep shoppers coming to the downtown sector when it’s under heavy construction.
He noted that this year’s radio advertising with Lake 88 created a substantial increase in social media and web-search engagement.
Next year’s plans call for more radio advertising along with multi-layered “we are open” campaigns at a cost of $70K.
The goal is to keep shopping traffic flowing even when vehicle traffic is impeded.
