Property owner can’t sell vehicles on Carleton Place lot
A local property owner lost in his bid to operate a used vehicle lot, at this week’s Carleton Place Council meeting.
The proposal was to update the building and property, the former home of SRC Music at 124 Moore Street at the southern entrance to the downtown core.
The business would provide used vehicles for sale as well as operate a collision appraisal centre.
Early in its history, the building was used as an automotive repair garage.
Plans included improved landscaping and building renovations.
The committee didn’t feel the project fit the character of the neighbourhood and opted to maintain the current zoning clause on the property which prohibits vehicle sales.
