Perth Polar Bear Plunge to be home-based event in light of COVID-19 surge

by | Dec 27, 2021 | Local News | 0 comments

With the rising number of COVID-19 cases and the fact that the Perth Legion has to stay closed until after the New Year, organizers of the Perth Polar Bear Plunge have had to pour hot water all over the event.

This means that plungers will be encouraged to do some sort of plunge in the safety of their homes.

Some examples could include an ice-bucket challenge, getting into a bathtub of ice water, or standing in the shower for 10 seconds with the water on full cold.

You can also come up with your own creative plunge idea, maybe a prolonged roll in the snow.

A statement from organizers says, “Rest assured, the plunge is still happening, and you can still pledge any of the over fifty brave souls who have already registered, with the money all going to support the great work of Lanark County Community Justice. Just go to www.commjustice.org.”

Photos and videos of the various home plunges will be uploaded Lanark County Community Justice’s social media pages, and should be available for viewing sometime on January 2nd.
