Smiths Falls’ Chantale Lebrun remembered as dedicated mother as fundraiser for her children grows

The victim in a Christmas Day murder in Smiths Falls is being remembered as a strong, uplifting, and dedicated mother of four.
A 39-year old man is being held in custody for the homicide which police have called domestic in Nature.
36-year-old Chantale Lebrun was a mother of four.
A GoFundMe raising money for a funeral and her four girls started by her best friend Caitlyn Beute had surpassed $27,000 as of last night. You can find the page here.
On the page, Caitlyn says “Chantale is irreplaceable and will never be forgotten.”
One couple wrote, “We love you and will miss you so much Will be praying for your beautiful girls,” while another writes, “Such a tragedy The children will need all the support the community can offer.”
In a statement, Smiths Falls Mayor Shawn Pankow said in part, “The heart of our community is broken over the senseless and tragic loss of a young mother of four,” and “We are all deeply saddened by this devastating news and are reminded once again the horrific impact of domestic violence.”
So far police have not released any more details about the Brockville Street killing, and there is no word yet on any charges against the man being held as of yet.
