New social housing building open in Carleton Place
At Wednesday night’s Community Services Committee meeting for Lanark County council, councillors were pleased to hear that their new 20 unit social housing apartment building on Arthur Street in Carleton Place was finally open.
After months of COVID related construction delays, the County’s director of social services, Emily Hollington reported that the first tenants of 7 Arthur Street had already taken occupancy.
She noted that in respect of current public health measures, move-in dates and times for others were being scheduled as safely as possible.
Site landscaping will be completed this spring and due to a specification problem, the builder will be replacing all the structure’s windows at their expense with vertical sliders in the future.
Councillors thanks Hollington for her patience and performance on this project.
