New Fire Trucks unveiled in Rideau Lakes
Rideau Lakes Fire and Rescue unveiled two of their new trucks this past weekend.
The vehicles will replace two that were lost in the December fire that leveled the Portland fire station.
Hot chocolate and cookies were handed out to kids as they came to check out the new hardware.
Earlier, Fire Chief Scott Granahan had told council that deals were in place to replace the trucks lost in the fire. They are still waiting for one more truck to arrive. Insurance is covering the costs.
The fire that destroyed the old station is not considered suspicious, and work continues to determine where a replacement facility should go.
