Domestic cases keep area police busy

The OPP carried out several more domestic investigations last week.

On March 9th, a 52-year-old Carleton Place resident was charged with four counts of spousal assault and one count each of criminal harassment, mischief under $5000 and unlawful possession of a firearm as the result of a historical domestic investigation.

The accused was held for a show cause hearing.

Then on the 11th, a 19-year-old Ottawa resident was charged with assault with a weapon was the result of a domestic investigation in the Municipality of Mississippi Mills.

That suspect will appear in court on April 11th to answer to the charges.

Lanark County OPP also investigated 9 non-criminal domestic disputes during this week.
