A handful of additional housing units are coming to 169 Chambers Street in Smiths Falls.

Council passed a rezoning by-law Monday night to allow more housing options at the site.

Councillor Wendy Alford explained how they’ll fit them in to the building.

Alford said in-fill opportunities such as this are good ways to build the housing stock within Smiths Falls.

Currently there’s one residence on the second floor of the property, but now two main floor units and an ancillary residence at the back will be added.

There was a lengthy discussion at the previous committee of the whole meeting surrounding this rezoning by-law before it was carried Monday.
