Parents with children in Carleton Place municipal daycare are in for a rate increase this year.

The fee schedule report came before Carleton Place’s committee of the whole last night.

Tracey Freill, the town’s director of childcare services proposed increases starting on July 1st ranging from 3-4% depending on age category.

In addition new busing fees will be implemented in Sept and new charges for daily care over 10 hours, based on half-hour increments will begin on Jan 1st next year.

The committee endorsed the proposal and will forward the matter to the next full council meeting for final approval.
