County-wide official plan briefly discussed
At this week’s Lanark County Council meeting, planner Julie Stewart prepared a report discussing the need to update the County’s official plan.
It sparked a brief conversation about streamlining the process, by creating one plan for the entire county.
Councillor Brian Campbell suggested it would be a way to manage all official plans and find efficiencies.
Campbell said each municipality could opt-in or out of a possible joint official plan and acknowledged the difficulty mass collaboration could create regarding municipal timelines and other factors.
Councillor and Carleton Place mayor Doug Black agreed it’s worth exploring.
Ultimately Stewart’s initial report was accepted as information.
